Lawn Insect and Pest Control
Insect control may or may not be necessary. As you are mowing or walking through your lawn, look for signs of insect infestation. Small dead areas, unusual bird activity, or just an area that does not look healthy may be signs that insect control measures are needed.
Grubs are generally the #1 insect problem in home lawns. An application of a systemic insecticide like Imidacloprid or Aloft in mid to late May will provide season-long control of the grub larvae that eat grass roots.
Are moles a problem in your lawn? Control the grubs, their food source, and the mole should go away. You can also apply Bonide MoleMax as a mole/vole repellent. Reapplication will be necessary.
